Discover Your Potential Through Ballet

Ballet is about more than learning technique. It’s an opportunity to build confidence, develop discipline, express yourself through movement, and experience the satisfaction that comes from challenging yourself and discovering what you can accomplish.

At Valley Academy for the Arts, students can develop their skills through progressive classical ballet training designed around their age, experience, ability, and maturity. Our approach combines exceptional instruction with an encouraging environment where artistic development and personal growth go hand in hand.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Valley Academy students are trained in the extended Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet, a training system that emphasizes technique, artistry, and expression while incorporating knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and developmental movement to support strength, flexibility, and longevity.

Our approach to ballet education also extends beyond technique. Through dance, students have opportunities to develop perseverance, imagination, self-discipline, social and emotional skills, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities. We believe artistic excellence and personal growth should develop together, helping students grow not only as dancers but as confident, creative, and resilient individuals.

Find Your Ballet Program

Valley Academy for the Arts offers progressive ballet instruction for students ready to develop their technique, artistry, and skills through continued classical ballet training.

Academy Division | Ballet 2 & 3
Ballet 2 (ages 7 & 8) and Ballet 3 build a strong foundation through systematic Vaganova-based instruction incorporating anatomy and kinesiology. Classes follow the format of a traditional ballet class, including a warm-up, ballet steps at the barre, center movement, and simple choreography. Students develop strength and confidence while progressing in ballet fundamentals, including posture, body awareness, placement, terminology, and technique.

Conservatory Division | Ballet 4, 5, & 6
The Conservatory Division provides continued training for experienced intermediate ballet dancers who demonstrate proficiency in classical ballet discipline and technique and are committed to their ongoing personal and artistic development. Classes include a warm-up, ballet steps at the barre, center movement, simple choreography, and strength and conditioning as appropriate. Placement is based on experience and ability and determined through audition and invitation at the discretion of the Artistic Director.
